Frinned’s Quest. Part Four

Arriving at the school fair early Rona and Emily ran to the fence which bordered the horses field to look for Little Frinned.
“He must be here somewhere.” said Rona “He said he would dance with me.”
“Well we’ll wait for him.” replied Emily “I was hoping he would sing with us too. It’s only one o’clock he must be having his dinner.” Emily said.
The two girls waited by the fence for an hour and on hearing the loud speaker announcing the opening of the fair they had to leave as both girls were singing for the parents with the school choir. They just made it in time to the staging and as they took their seats next to each other Rona saw Little Frinned making his way through the parents to the front of the stage.
“Look!” said Rona. “There he is and with his Mum and Dad!”
The two girl’s hearts soared with joy and they felt so happy as Little Frinned stood besides them to sing with the choir. The choir’s performance of “I’ve got the sun in the morning and the moon at night” was fantastic. The music teacher had never heard the school choir sing so well. The watching parents clapped loudly as the song finished. Melody and Frinned stood proudly amongst
them. As Frinned turned to Melody and said “That’s my boy.” he saw that Melody was crying tears of joy. He nuzzled her and Little Frinned came prancing up to them happily with Rona and Emily close behind.
” These are my friends.” he told them.
“Hello Children.” said Melody ” It’s very nice to meet you. Little Frinned has told me all about you.”
“Hello.” the two girls replied in unison.
Rona was moving nervously from side to side. “Is there something wrong Rona?” asked Frinned in a gentle voice. “You all sang wonderfully and you both look very pretty.”
Rona smiled. “Can Little Frinned join in the Maypole Dance with us please?” she asked
“Of course he can. That’s why we have come. We wouldn’t miss it for the world.” Frinned replied.
“We have a present for you both.” said Melody as she passed them a pink hair ribbon with a silk daisy in the center. ” You Mothers will have to put them on for you.” she told them.
Beaming a big smile Rona and Emily thanked Melody and ran off excitedly to find their Mothers and show them their ribbons.
As a family the three Unicorns walked around the school fair enjoying the fresh happy atmosphere. At three o’clock precisely Little Frinned joined Rona and Emily for the May Pole dance which was watched proudly by all the parents who clapped enthusiastically to the beat of the music.
They all had a wonderful time and all too soon it was time for Little Frinned and his parents to go home.

As they all said goodbye Rona hugged Little Frinned and said “I have a present for you.” She took out of her bag a picture she had drawn for him with colouring pencils. It was a picture of a little girl with a big smile riding a Unicorn in a blue sky with a rainbow next to them over the countryside. She had drawn daisies on the grass and stuck gold stars on the sky. Written very neatly with an arrow pointing to the child and Unicorn she had put their names. Rona and Little Frinned.
” Oh thats so lovey” said Melody with a lump in her throat.
“I like that” said Little Frinned ” It’s you and me and I will keep it forever. Thankyou .”
“We have to go now children.” said Frinned and the girls waved as they watched the Unicorns trot across the fields and disappear into the distance.

ArchAngels’ Michael and Gabriel were waiting for them at the top of the Tor and saw them home safely.
Once home Frinned put Rona’s picture in a frame and hung it on Little Frinned’s bedroom wall.
“We had a lovely time Mummy didn’t we.” Little Frinned said as it was time for bed.
“Yes son we did and I am so glad we went.” Melody told him as she kissed him goodnight and surrounded him in pink light of love. Smiling as she left the bedroom she could hear Little Frinned singing.
It wasn’t long before he was fast asleep dreaming of his next adventure.
